Well, school got out 2 weeks ago, and Rachel has survived her first year of teaching 3rd grade. Though the year included a class of 31 students and a heap of behavior problems, she had some truely wonderful students that has convinced her want to do it all again next year. Despite all of the hardships, trials and tears (just ask her students, she cried all the time!), Rachel feels that teaching has multitudes of rewards. One such reward would be recieving notes such as this:
Card recieved on the last day of school from one of Rachel's DARLING students, Taysom

I LOVE (a heart) YOU
Inside Card
Dear Mrs. Marchant,
I have LOVED being in your class this year. When I thought was going to die you helped me to survive! NOW, I now I can do ENETHING because of my 3rd grade teacher!
Love
Taysom
Who knew that learning multiplication and cursive was so difficult! The picture above is Rachel's first 3rd grade class on the day that she brought in little Rhees to meet them all. He's only 6 days old. (Taysom is the cute little girl in red sitting to my left.) Aren't they some of the most adorable kids you've ever seen? Rachel missed them all so much while she was on leave that she went back to teach the last two days of school!
